POSITION SUMMARY:

Contributes to the Marketing Department team in the planning, design, production, and facilitation of marketing materials and campaigns. Promotes First Citizens products and services by developing fresh content for all advertising mediums, and creates and designs attention-grabbing, professional marketing materials as requested. Is a creative thinker who can manage multiple projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and bring fresh, strategic, creative, and innovative ideas to life.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Graphic Design: 75%
  • Assists with the development of marketing product/service promotions by designing layouts of art and copy, including arrangement, size, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Designs and develops graphic design components which may include, but not be limited to: flyers, newspaper ads, in-house media kits, drive-up envelopes, signage (such as vinyl or electronic billboards), SnapQuik signs), and direct mail pieces.
  • Assists with informing the public and employees by disseminating information and developing materials and product sheets.
  • Creates promotional materials by designing, composing letters, scripts, storyboards, commercials, and brochures.
  • Creates supporting materials and other materials as necessary.
  • May record, create and edit videos, including real and animated, for bank marketing efforts
  • Supports the organization's marketing efforts by assembling and distributing materials to branch locations.
  • May prepare for promotional events by computing space and equipment requirements; determining layout; banners; signs; designing displays for booths; purchasing and setting decorations; and assisting with staffing.
  • May be asked to travel to other branches for various things including but not limited to events, marketing meetings, and branch merchandising.
  • May co-coordinate Power Saver campaigns, communication to branches, write video scripts, and provide other marketing support.
  • Shares graphic design expertise and printing knowledge with marketing department.
  • Maintains job-related technical knowledge and expertise in Mac (hardware and software).
  • Maintains compliance folder for all items.
  • Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
Marketing: 20%
  • Assists in developing marketing strategies, including digital marketing.
  • Stays current with industry trends and tools, suggesting innovative design solutions and best practices.
  • Assists in creating non-graphic elements of campaigns including radio and television scripts and other persuasive writing elements.
  • Creates and processes ongoing scheduled marketing contacts. Manages lists of customers and non-customers for marketing purposes.
  • Generates creative concepts that reflect an understanding of the target audience, the goals of the project, and the overall FCB brand image.
  • May creates and schedule message center signs for Mason City & Clarion, and coordinate messages to FCB offices for electronic signs.
  • Supports financial literacy efforts of the bank.
Other Duties: 5%
  • Balances multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality creative assets
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and webinars; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contacts vendors when necessary for hardware and software support IT for Mac-related support and for the Marketing Department printer.
  • Refers potential customers to the bank.
  • Participates in civic and community activities to generate visibility and contact for the bank.
  • Attends mandatory compliance and security sessions. Monitors daily work for adherence to compliance and security regulations, and policies/procedures, and promptly corrects any deficiencies.
  • Completes BAI training as required.
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Serves as backup where applicable and contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.

Qualifications

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Work is performed primarily indoors in an office setting. Also, local travel as needed for additional resources to complete projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • 2 year degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Marketing, or related field, and at least 3 years of experience, or a combination of both.
  • Previous financial industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to handle multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, CMS software, social media platforms, and other related marketing software.
  • Knowledge of the printing process and understanding of printing technology.
  • A deep understanding of typography principles and a creative eye for visual composition.
  • Knowledge of and ability to cross-sell FCB products and services to customers, such as the ability to identify customers' needs, communicate services, explain advantages, and close sales activity.
  • Skill in working with the public, presenting a professional image of the bank, and servicing prospective and current customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Knowledge of current compliance-related issues plus new and updated regulations.
