Assistant Weekend Features Editor Location: dmg::media Head Office - New York, NY 10003 Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 depending on experience Position: Permanent DailyMail.com is seeking an assistant editor on the growing Opinion/Features desk in our New York City office. This is an in-office position and a 9-hour shift Monday to Friday but applicants must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts as news arises. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Commissioning news features to run on weekends Coming up with original ideas and guiding reporters in the field Editing feature content on a wide array of topics from news to celebrity and sport Editing under tight deadlines Restructuring articles Researching article ideas Working with photo editors to create images to illustrate articles Building articles in a content management system We are seeking professionals with the following experience: At least 5 years working as an editor at a newspaper, news website or magazine Understanding of the DailyMail.com brand, editorial voice and audience Knowledge of online research tools Dailymail.com operates a 24/7 newsroom, and all shifts are expected to be worked from the office. Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours. Benefits: Company scheme includes healthcare, dental, optical, life insurance and 401K PTO: Standard allowance is 15 days plus one day per every year of service capped at 20 days. Public holidays are not included in this allowance. They are in addition.
