Overview:
Signalink is looking to hire a Technical Illustrator who will work with a diverse team comprised of engineering, logistics, and aircraft professionals to create/update graphics for technical publications and installation instructions in support of U.S. Army Program Executive Office - Aviation (PEO AVN) and U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center (AvMC).
Responsibilities and Duties:
Update technical illustrations by modifying existing graphics based on input from customers and engineering teams, ensuring they meet strict internal standards.
Vectorize graphics by converting raster-based images into accurate, functional vector-based illustrations tailored for technical publications.
Develop detailed, data-driven, aviation-specific graphics for technical manuals and other documentation, supporting complex systems and procedures.
Validate all illustrations to ensure they meet technical accuracy and DoD publication requirements
Requirements and Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma
5-7 years in a similar role, preferably within DoD or aviation contexts
Experience with Adobe Illustrator
Ability to travel 10% of the time
Active secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one
Preferred Experience and Knowledge: Familiarity with Army or DoD aviation technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
Demonstrated ability to interpret 3D technical concepts and render them as accurate, static 2D illustrations.
Proficient in interpreting and translating complex schematics, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Capable of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment.
