Job Description
The Library Assistant position supports Stetson University by providing a friendly library user experience and keeping our resources neat and up to date. Serving as a member of the Law Library Team, the Library Assistant will work regular hours at the circulation, maintain library resources, assist with campus mail, and assist with the processing of library materials. In alignment with Stetson's Strategic Priorities, the Library Assistant will promote a people-centered, high-performing and relationship-rich culture of inclusive excellence.
Required Skills
Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
•Check-in, file, process, shelve, and as necessary, claim law library materials
•Work regularly scheduled hours at the circulation desk
•Library collection and stacks maintenance, including shelf-reading
•Assist in receiving, sorting, and processing incoming and outgoing campus mail
•Maintenance of library equipment including printers, copiers, and microform reader/printers
•Interlibrary loans
•Electronic records maintenance
•Study room reservations
•Assist with managing up-to-date patron records
•Assist in maintenance and revision of policy and procedure manuals
•Provides back-up when needed for the library administration desk including ordering library supplies and materials, returning and routing items, maintaining received items log, printing documents for library director, scheduling department calendar and printing calendars and other library administration desk duties
•Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others
•Other duties as assigned

- Familiarity with use of online library databases preferred
- Familiarity with use of office equipment including shredder, copier, printer, scanner, and microform reader/printers preferred
- Familiarity with WMS ILS or other ILS preferred
- Familiarity with use of an automated postage meter machine
- Support the University's Mission and Values in their role.
