Introduction

Are you looking for a position that combines both your organizational and customer service skills? Have you ever considered working in a library? Chinn Park Library located in Woodbridge, VA is looking for an energetic, customer service-oriented individual for our Page position. As a Page, you will work individually and as part of a team. A Page is critical in making sure that our materials are organized and available for patrons to easily access. Our team of Pages also provide directional assistance to library resources in addition to other projects. This can be your stepping-stone to a successful career in library services. About This Role:
  • Shelve materials in alphabetical and/or numerical order according to the Dewey Decimal system.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with locating materials and providing information.
  • Maintain the presentation / neatness of the collection
  • Shifting the collection as needed
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Attend training and assist with the training of new page staff.
  • Create displays, assist with programs, and participate in community outreach and special events.
  • Participating in staff meetings

Minimum Requirements:
  • 8th grade education or higher and 0-12 months of related experience
  • Must be at least 16 years old.

Preferences:
  • Experience working in a customer service field
  • Experience with filing both alphabetically and numerically
  • Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, Sharepoint, and Teams
  • Flexibility in scheduling

Special Requirements:
The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.

Work Schedule:
This is a permanent Part Time non-exempt 20 hour per week position. Shifts include days, evenings and weekend hours. Scheduling flexibility is essential. Work schedules vary depending on the needs of the library. Chinn Park Library's current hours of operation are Monday- Wednesday 8:30am to 8:00pm.; Thursday -Saturday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm- 5:00pm. Hours are subject to change.

$17.99
