Job Description

The Desert Research Institute's Nevada Robotics engineering education program is hiring a part-time Robot-Drone Lending Library Coordinator to support PreK - 12 programing. This position is based in Reno and will include on-site office tasks supporting educators in Reno, Elko, and Las Vegas. The coordinator will manage the Lending Library which includes database management, communication with educators and team members, collect photos and feedback, set up new robots and drones, delivery and pick up, shipping and receiving, and other duties as assigned. This position will provide up to 20 hours per week of office work with a flexible schedule. No robotics or drone experience necessary, and training will be provided.

Key Job Duties:

Drone and Robot Lending Library Management
  • Maintain database system and the online checkout system functionality using Knack database.
  • Communicate with local teachers via email about Robot and Drone Lending Library loans and timelines.
  • Work with faculty to schedule social media posts and website postings about robot and drone loans.
  • Provide excellent verbal and written communications about the Robot and Drone Lending Library.
  • Provide excellent customer service skills to educators and community members.
  • Communicate with faculty members about Robot-Drone Lending Library needs, purchasing, etc.
  • Provide Robot-Drone Lending Library data to faculty for reporting and tracking purposes.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in higher education, PreK - college experience, office management, or related field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite programs, and database management.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain responsibility for individual work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service both in writing and in person.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills with a positive and growth mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree in higher education, STEM, engineering, education, business, or related field.
Physical Requirements:
  • This position may need to occasionally perform physical tasks such as lifting objects of 20-60 lbs., stooping, bending, and kneeling and standing for long periods of time.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
Compensation Grade/Benefits:
  • $20-$30/hr DOE, up to 20 hours per week; no benefits
