Position Summary:
This Lead position is responsible for managing the operations of the K-12 Assistive Technology Lending Library, a critical resource for students with disabilities in Indiana PK-12 schools. The program offers access to a variety of assistive devices through demonstrations and short-term loans, enabling students and educators to make informed decisions about their technology needs. This role includes maintaining equipment inventory, managing an online equipment library database, conducting demonstrations, and assisting students and staff with their assistive technology requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the daily activities of the demo and loan program, keeping the program manager informed about ongoing activities and developments.
- Organize and maintain the equipment in the lending library, both at main and remote school locations.
- Conduct an annual physical inventory of all equipment in the lending library, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Update and maintain the online equipment library database, generating reports on lending library activities.
- Provide monthly lending library data, including loan and demo statistics, to program manager for reporting purposes.
- Independently conduct adaptive technology device demonstrations across schools in the district.
- Deliver in-services on adaptive tools, devices, and apps for small and large groups of students and staff as needed.
- Support marketing and outreach efforts by participating in school events, training opportunities, creating equipment tech tips and related tasks.
- Ensure the K-12 Assistive Technology Lending Library is maintained, and that all equipment is ready for tours and demonstrations.
Education, Licenses, or Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or completion of related certification program(s) and/or prior experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- ATP certification or related certification (preferred, not required)
- Valid driver’s license.
Experience required:
- 3-5yrs experience in Assistive Technology or related field.
- Experience with a broad collection of Assistive Technology hardware/software
- Strong computer skills for communication and data tracking/reporting

- Ability to prioritize and provide self-direction.
- Ability and desire to learn new systems and technology solutions.
- Ability to communicate and maintain good relationships and interactions with consumers, other staff, other agency personnel and other persons in the community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of technology including Windows, MS Applications, and Apple
- Strong understanding of assistive technology services, equipment, and best practices.
Equipment:
- Standard office equipment, communication tools, computer hardware/software, AT hardware/software, databases.
Physical Requirements:
- Required physical activities: Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
- Medium Work: lifting to 26-50 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently.
Working Hours:
- Schedule varies, typically 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
