Head of Marketing Hybrid/Remote + Bi-Weekly Travel to San Diego, CA
Job Summary The Head of Marketing will lead the strategic planning and execution of integrated marketing initiatives to drive brand growth and market presence for our expanding skincare business. This role involves developing and overseeing marketing strategies, managing large-scale campaigns, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with overall business objectives. The Head of Marketing will be responsible for market analysis, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring that marketing efforts effectively communicate the brand's value proposition to target audiences. Additionally, this role will oversee the marketing budget, optimize resource allocation, and evaluate the performance of marketing programs to ensure maximum ROI.
Specific Responsibilities Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement strategic marketing plans that align with business goals.
Create a holistic marketing strategy that incorporates key brand communications with a focus on a subscription-first model.
Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform strategies; produce a monthly ‘market insights’ report highlighting market trends and competitor activities.
Develop marketing strategy for each individual product to convey the key attributes while highlighting product relationships.
Manage and optimize marketing budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
Conduct annual budget planning process and participate in monthly financial reviews.
Management & Implementation: Establish and maintain a robust operational framework for marketing activities, including efficient project management, clear communication protocols, and adherence to standards of excellence.
Ensure standards of excellence for management and execution are established.
Oversee the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Lead and mentor the marketing team (3 internal employees currently), fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Collaborate closely with product development, eCommerce, and customer service teams to ensure a unified brand expression and optimal user experience across all touchpoints.
Manage the selection, evaluation, and deliverables of strategic partners and agencies for digital marketing, PR, analytics, or other resources.
Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on the performance of all marketing initiatives along with recommended adjustments to strategies as needed.
Creative: Oversee creative execution of all assets to ensure alignment with defined brand identity, visual standards, and tone of voice.
Develop and/or approve creative content plans, including social media, journal, email, and website assets.
Ensure all external partners are thoroughly briefed on creative standards and manage approval process for quality control.
Public Relations: Manage relationships with PR agencies, overseeing strategic planning, monthly outreach initiatives, and execution to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
Evaluate agency performance and provide actionable feedback.
Establish partnerships that are aligned with the brand’s ethos to drive authentic awareness.
Collaborate with agencies on developing opportunities for thought leadership and guest appearances.
Performance Marketing & Email: Supervise and approve performance marketing efforts, including strategy development, budget allocation, and creative execution.
Oversee email marketing efforts, including strategy development, calendar planning, and creative approvals.
Approve all marketing and transactional emails and flow logic.
Ensure all creative aligns with brand standards.
Conduct monthly business reviews with agency partners, assessing performance and providing feedback to improve.
Utilize dashboards to assess performance, tracking both last-click and linear attribution.
Social Media: Manage social team to develop and execute strategic plan that enhances brand awareness and engagement.
Ensure the integration of the brand's social media presence to optimize business growth and maintain brand authenticity.
Establish a framework to effectively leverage the relationship between the brand and social media presence for business growth.
Coordinate the integration and delineation of the content strategy.

Experience in managing and optimizing marketing budgets.
Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and managing marketing teams.
Experience overseeing the creative execution of marketing assets.
Skilled in managing PR agency relationships and executing outreach initiatives.
Strong background in supervising performance marketing efforts.
Salary: $150K-$180K
