Job Description
The Director of Marketing is responsible for the day-to-day operation, enhancement and development of Post & Schell, P.C.’s (Firm) professional legal marketing services. The Director of Marketing will work in conjunction with the Department Chairs, Accounting, Compliance, Human Resources, Information Technology (IT), and the Chief Operating Officer (COO), and will report directly to the Firm’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The job duties of the Director of Marketing include the following:
Manage and implement the external public relations activities of the firm, including:
All aspect of the Firm’s public relations, including maintaining the firm’s active website and social media accounts
Draft and prepare attorney bios for Firm website
Maintain Firm’s mailing lists
Design and purchase Firm marketing products for client distribution
Design and issuance of email client bulletins and various correspondences to clients
Draft, prepare, and distribute Firm brochures, announcements and/or other promotional material
Draft, prepare, and distribute press releases
Proofread/edit, and assist with publication of attorney articles
Oversee and coordinate firm submissions to industry/legal-centric publications
Coordinate with media outlets
Manage and supervise, and attend when necessary, all external client (existing and prospective) information and/or business development publications and events, including:
All written publications sent from the Firm, as well as oral presentations
Practice or case law updates sent, either electronically or by hard copy
Virtual conferences and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs
Lectures or seminars which are to be given by Post & Schell attorneys
Coordinate with Department Chairs and Managing Partners of individual offices regarding approaches to existing and prospective firm clients and/or the expansion of business in geographic areas with existing or anticipated legal product lines.
In coordination with the Department Chairs, Compliance, IT and COO, prepare, review, and approve all firm responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and submission of firm material for client solicitation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, with preference in Marketing, English, Journalism or Communications
- 5+ years of experience in business development and marketing
- Prior law firm marketing experience preferred
- Expertise with social media platforms
- Advanced working knowledge of Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Vuture, Constant Contact, InterAction, and Adobe InDesign
- Superior communication skills a must
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to manage and prioritize numerous assignments
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Enthusiastic “can-do” attitude and the ability to proactively engage in events and projects
- Work frequently requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position
