The Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) at Rochester Institute of Technology is a leader in sustainability education and research. The Institute is currently staffed by seven academic faculty, seven research faculty, and over 60 professional staff scientists, engineers and administrative support personnel. Degrees offered include Master of Architecture, M.S. in Sustainable Systems, and Ph.D. in Sustainability. These programs are led by multidisciplinary faculty who collaborate with organizations locally, nationally, and internationally to create solutions to complex sustainability challenges. GIS also recognizes and is committed to the value of a diverse graduate student community, with strong recruitment and enrollment of female and underrepresented students. The flagship of GIS is the LEED platinum-certified Sustainability Hall, a $38 million, 84,000 ft2 facility dedicated to the GIS academic mission. The building serves as a center for sustainability research, technology transfer, education and outreach, and provides a state-of-the-art showcase for green construction and design. It incorporates a "smart" microgrid and a variety of sustainable technologies, including a 400 kW phosphoric acid fuel cell, 40 kW photovoltaic array, geothermal wells, and a green roof with rainwater harvesting. Job Summary
The Golisano Institute for Sustainability at Rochester Institute of Technology has a job opening for a Marketing and Recruitment Manager. The institute is home to three graduate degree programs: a MS in Sustainable Systems, a Ph.D. in Sustainability, and a Master of Architecture. Graduating about 30 students a year in high-impact, niche fields, our mission is to further innovation in sustainability to solve complex problems around the globe that require systems-based thinking. Through our degree programs, we develop students to become transformative agents of change within industry, government, academia, and the nonprofit sector.
Reporting to the institute director, the Marketing and Recruitment Manager will work collaboratively with RIT's enrollment and marketing teams to promote the institute and its programs to prospective students. The Marketing and Recruitment Manager will support student recruitment efforts and carry out marketing and recruitment activities to assist, guide, and nurture prospective students from interest to completing an admission application. This position provides important insights and recommendations, based on recruitment data and experience, for achieving the annual enrollment goals.
Marketing
- Responsible for the conceptual direction of institute marketing, branding, photography, and publications.
- Lead the development of marketing materials across media, print, web, and video.
- Manage the strategic positioning framework of the Institute and ensure its application to both marketing and recruiting activities.
- Research competitor marketing tactics and ensure the institute's strategy is competitive in the space
- Conceptualize and execute multi-channel advertising campaigns to promote degree programs.
- Responsible for planning, evaluating, and reporting on goals and long-range marketing strategies.
- Supervise and manage degree program content on the institute website, email, and social media.
- Answer phone calls and emails from prospective students to provide information about the institute and its degree programs.
- Coordinate and hold information sessions and assigned visits for prospective students in collaboration with enrollment leadership and program directors.
- Work with RIT's enrollment team to ensure the smooth transitioning of prospects to submitted applicants.
- Represent GIS at student recruitment and other marketing events.
- Assist in the solicitation and finalization of marketing materials across media, print, web, and video.
- Research competitor programs and lead discussions with enrollment leadership and program directors to identify ways to make the institute's programs more competitive to prospective students.

Required Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years of experience working in a professional marketing and/or recruiting capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, new media, journalism, communications or related field
- Fluency with a variety of technology media, including audio, video, mass email, and web.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and use data to effectively inform and target recruitment effort.
- Experience with website analytics tools such as Google Analytics, among other tools/platforms.
- Ability to represent the institute with a high degree of professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to make connections and build relationships quickly.
- 1+ year of experience in college/university admissions and/or enrollment management is highly desired.
- Experience in marketing strategy, advertising campaign development, web development, and email automation is a plus.
