The Marketing Communications Specialist develops accurate and compelling copy for marketing communications such as ads, social media posts, newsletters, email, web, video scripts, Q&As and product descriptions. They collaborate with a fast-paced marketing production team to produce all assets accurately and on deadline. The Specialist is an expert on best practices for marketing content and maintains Stanford FCU brand consistency.
Who you are:
- A talented writer who loves creating clear, concise, informative, creative and compelling communications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience writing a variety of marketing communications including ad copy, social media posts, Q&As, product descriptions, fact sheets, emails, web copy, blogs, internal staff notifications and more
- Clear understanding of SEO and the nuances of different audience communication needs
- Adept at learning new information quickly with great attention to detail
- Able to work with minimal direction while proactively communicating progress
- Critical thinker with solid decision-making skills
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a team of marketing professionals focused on quality, accuracy and results
- Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field
- Financial services experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, website CMS and email marketing desired
What you’ll do:
- Primary copywriter for in-house marketing and communications team
- Develop accurate and compelling copy for a wide variety of marketing communications such as ads, social media posts, quarterly feature articles, monthly newsletter, email and web copy, video scripts, Q&As and product descriptions
- Proactively review, edit and update existing website and recurring email copy
- Recommend and create new content to drive traffic
- Ensure compliance with all financial services advertising regulations
- Collaborate with the marketing team to produce creative campaigns
- Conduct research and interview product experts to develop deep product knowledge and produce accurate written communications
- Apply best practices for each marketing channel, and remain knowledgeable and flexible as channels and audience needs change
- Ensure brand consistency and develop a communications style guide
- Manage writing projects as assigned
- Maintain working knowledge of financial products and services
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned
