Park City Office, 1678 West Redstone Center Drive, Park City, Utah, United States of America Req #680 Tuesday, November 5, 2024 POSITION TITLE: Social Media Manager REPORTS TO: Sr. Brand Marketing Director LOCATION: Hybrid, Park City, UT Headquarters - 3 days a week at the Headquarters SCHEDULE: Full-time PAY GRADE: Salary JOB OVERVIEW: The Social Media Manager (SMM) will lead the social media strategy for Backcountry and be responsible for executing and reporting on the brand’s social media presence. This work will reinforce Backcountry’s larger brand strategy and will be a collaborative effort with our social content creation team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure resonance with our target customer. The SMM will coordinate the day-to-day flow and moderation of social content across relevant channels, participate in the social content creation process, and dynamically react to changes within the social media space to meet traffic, engagement, conversion, revenue, and other brand goals. The SMM will work closely with our Sr. Brand Marketing Director, social media content team, brand creative team, and digital marketing team to assure an aligned and impactful social media presence for Backcountry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, execute, and otherwise own a cross-channel social media strategy for Backcountry. Backcountry’s social media channels include Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Pinterest, Threads, and YouTube. Partner with Backcountry’s social media content team and brand creative team to create content that resonates with Backcountry’s target customer (outdoor enthusiasts). Collaborate with an array of cross-functional stakeholders at Backcountry (e.g. owned brands team, customer service aka Gearheads, HR) to ensure the brand and its many facets come to life through social media. Work with the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing to establish KPIs by which to measure the ongoing efficacy of the social media strategy in line with larger brand and business goals. Work closely with the digital marketing/paid social team to ensure consistent brand communication in both the organic and paid channels. Research, evaluate, recommend and implement (as approved) necessary tools to support and administer Backcountry’s social channels. Evaluate new social platforms and partnership opportunities and make appropriate recommendations based on Backcountry’s brand strategy and initiatives. The position involves working outside normal office hours from time to time to coordinate live content. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong (proven) social media skills, including at least three (3) years experience in a social media-based role; essential understanding of brand communications/public relations. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate effectively with an array of cross-functional colleagues and teams. Basic understanding of content licensing (e.g. music, imagery). Well-versed in composing and designing social media posts to meet brand standards and engagement best practices. Experienced planner and manager of social media calendars in sync with larger company calendars and timelines. Experience creating and submitting creative briefs. Passionate about the outdoors. Outgoing & confident on screen, in front of audiences, and in large groups of coworkers. Project management experience, including working with project management software. Can understand and interpret social media analytics. Adept with Microsoft Office Suite (Sharepoint), Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, and social media management platforms.
