HSBC is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Communications Associate specializing in social media to join our dynamic communications team. This role will play a key part in developing and executing social media strategies, while also assisting with content creation, to promote HSBC's brand, and coordinating essential team and media relations activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to grow within a communications team and gain exposure to a wide range of media and public relations activities.
As our Communications Associate - Social Media you will:
- Develop and implement social media campaigns to promote key initiatives, events, and team activities across platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
- Assist with content development including writing, video production, and photography, to create engaging multimedia materials that align with HSBC's brand and communications strategies
- Coordinate team activities, including managing collaborative platforms like monday.com, Everyone Social (or similar social advocacy platform), preparing media lists, distributing press releases, and supporting media outreach efforts
- Support the communications team with media relations activities, including drafting and distributing press releases, monitoring media coverage, and preparing reports
- Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling content that aligns with HSBC's brand and communication strategies, highlighting team achievements and promoting cross-functional engagement
- Monitor and analyse social media performance metrics to ensure strategies are effectively driving engagement and achieving objectives
- Assist with planning and organizing internal and external events, including media briefings, team meetings, and press conferences
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date media contact list and ensure all media activities are well-coordinated and timely
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends, best practices, and platform updates to ensure HSBC remains at the forefront of digital communication strategies
- Contribute to content creation, messaging, and storytelling efforts that resonate with internal and external stakeholders.
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Approximately 5 years of experience in communications, with a focus on social media management, content creation, team coordination
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and analyze social media campaign across multiple platforms including LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram, as well as for senior executives
- Solid understanding of media relations, including drafting press releases, preparing media kits, managing media lists, and distributing press materials
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience coordinating team activities
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to adapt for various audiences and formats
- Ability to develop innovative and engaging content
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders
- Eager to learn
- Familiar with social media management tools
