Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000


Summary:

We are seeking an experience Technical Writer to join our engineering team. In this critical role, you will collaborate with engineers, field service technicians, and other internal stakeholders to create and manage technical documentation, including operator manuals, training materials, troubleshooting guides, and product feature overviews. Your work will directly support internal teams as well as customer operators, and maintenance personnel. These materials will also contribute to marketing efforts by uncovering and narrating the “story” behind our innovative features. This is a hands-on role for a collaborative Technical Writer with experience in technical communication, preferably with exposure to capital equipment, automated systems, or industrial machinery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering, field service technicians, and other internal teams to gather insights into product operations, maintenance, and new features.
  • Develop and update user manuals, operator guides, troubleshooting documentation, and training materials for a variety of audiences, including customer operators and maintenance teams.
  • Create technical content that bridges the gap between engineering functionality and customer usability.
  • Partner with the marketing team to translate technical feature stories into engaging, customer-focused narratives for promotional materials.
  • Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company's products and innovations to effectively support new product launches and updates.
  • Assist in creating training programs and resources for internal and external audiences.
  • Conduct interviews and observations to deeply understand the operation, maintenance, and repair processes of our equipment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in manufacturing, capital equipment, or industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft and Adobe FrameMaker, or MadCap Flare, or similar.
  • Familiarity with CAD drawings, schematics, and technical illustrations is a plus.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance, operating procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, user-friendly manner.
  • Knowledge of automated equipment or industrial systems is highly desirable.
