POSITION SUMMARY:
Bayview is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit. The Data Governance team at Bayview is focused on enhancing our data management solution to make dat strategic asset of the organization. This effort aims at creating and maintaining a single view of our customers, their assets and end to end data flow documentation. This initiative will provide a foundational and sustainable capability allowing for more effective management and collaboration across multiple in-flight analytic based activities. The Senior Technical Business Analyst / Technical Writer is an integral component in achieving and maintaining these goals.
We are seeking a dynamic individual who excels in blending the roles of Senior Technical Business Analyst and Senior Technical Writer. The individual will be tasked with documenting the current state of our current process and data flows; as the project progresses there may be an opportunity to be the lead technical BA / writer for a large data transformation. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical writing skills, proficiency in creating complex Visio swimlane flow diagrams, and a demonstrated ability to document end-to-end data and process flows across various technologies. This role requires a unique combination of business and technology acumen, along with strong communication skills to effectively navigate complex data environments. The Senior Technical Business Analyst/Technical Writer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive documentation of inputs/outputs, data transfer protocols, data transformations, and stored procedures.

As contractor, this is expected to be a 6-12 month engagement, with potential to extend.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop comprehensive documentation for end-to-end current state data and process flows, including inputs/outputs, stored procedures, ETL, API, or other data transfer/delivery protocols, and data transformations; present findings in clear manner to support project execution phase
- Create complex Visio swimlane flow diagrams to visually represent intricate technical processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business processes and technical systems.
- Translate technical information into clear, concise, and easily understandable documentation for various audiences.
- Ability to work with business users, data architects, data modelers, business analysts, QA, and multiple delivery teams to help define accurate current state documentation and data quality requirements
- Maintain documentation standards and templates to ensure consistency and quality.
- As project evolves, assist in training and onboarding new team members on technical processes and documentation standards.
- Leverage data analysis and business process experience to improve and sustain the quality and integrity of data
- Audit data of various functional areas, and assist building data quality dashboards
- Setting up meeting agendas, creation of meeting communication packs, documentation of key meeting minutes, and following up on key meeting actions
- Support other Data Governance team colleagues as needed
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
- Proficiency in creating complex Visio swimlane flow diagrams.
- Experience documenting end-to-end data and process flows across different technologies.
- Familiarity with data warehouse structures (both cloud and on premise)
- Business and technology acumen with the ability to understand both business requirements and technical implementations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the mortgage and/or investment management space is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with SQL for data analysis (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Visio.
- Strong background in technology operations.
- Ability to navigate through highly complex data environments.
- Experience in engineering roles is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to results.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS or higher and at least 7-10 years of experience as a Technical B nd Technical Writer on information management projects (i.e., data governance, data warehousing/business intelligence, meta data management, master data management), or equivalent experience
