Marcom is the creatively-led global team that oversees Apple’s consumer-facing marketing. We’re looking for a senior-level writer to help oversee global transcreation and creative localization, working across all Apple products and services, from the website to video, retail, and film. Description With the Localization Creative Director (CD), in this role you’ll help lead the transcreation of US creative work for 40+ languages, ensuring that the brand is communicated consistently and that we’re speaking in a way that’s culturally relevant for each market and language. Responsibilities Include: Collaborate closely with US writers, CDs, and many functional teams in Marcom and across Apple on launch and ongoing projects. Provide creative direction and support to an international team of writers and editors to make sure they’ve got the brand and creative information they need to do their best work. Brief and review translated headlines for 40+ languages, back-translated into English. Work with our localization team to help develop and improve tools and processes to optimize copy localization, including for machine translation and learning. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years experience working in creative localization on an international level with other writers and editors in a marketing communications organization. Direct experience transcreating and editing headlines and copy from US English and/or working with creative translations. Preferred Qualifications Ability to work in a multifaceted, complex creative environment. Exhibit excellent creative judgment; know how to ask the right questions to get to the best creative solutions, especially for headlines. Deep knowledge of and interest in translation and transcreation, including machine translation. Great collaboration and communication skills, able to connect effectively across different teams and functions to solve problems and improve processes. Solid understanding of interactive, retail, film & video processes. Able to manage and navigate many different projects at one time. Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,900 and $269,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
