Job Summary

Conferences & Event Design manages over 200+ conferences and events annually. As Lead Event Planner, this position plans and execute a roster of complex programs and events, serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for clients. This position leads a team of Event Planners and set the standard for event planning team in the areas of customer service, ensuring high return on value to customers through a quality experience. Advise the Event Planners assigned to meet individual and departmental goals. Create and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders and vendors on campus and in the community.

This is a dual level position where the hiring manager will determine the level commensurate with the education and experience of the chosen candidate.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Needed: Bachelor's degree with college coursework in Hospitality Management (the events, conferences, and/or meetings and special events industry) Minimum four (4) years of experience within hospitality in events and sales Consideration will be given to a candidate with relevant experience, in lieu of a degree Preferred:

experience in contracting, budgeting, marketing, CVENT, EMS Reservation System Current CED, CMP, CCEP designation or ability to obtain in six months Skills Needed:

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to assess client needs and communicate additional products and services for a successful event Prioritize to meet deadlines, and work effectively under time and resource constraints Quickly learn and become competent in event registration, space management and room diagramming software Strong work ethic, solid communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, and effective decision making Required competencies include coaching and leading people, strategic thinking, and drive for results Functional competencies in word processing, and event management software Additional Information:
