Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Design Team Planner/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and tracking the activities through the Design Team (Installation Planning & Detailed Design). They will plan the workflow of current and future projects through the department and adjust schedules as projects are delayed or accelerated or if over/under capacities occur.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned or re-assigned as the Manufacturing Facility expands.
- Support the Design leadership team with operational technology and system planning
- Provide capacity planning and resource planning activities for the Design team
- Utilize operational technology to schedule orders in alignment with the Manufacturing Planning department
- Maintain operating calendar and vacation planning
- Define delivery dates for the design team while considering procurement times
- Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Planning, and Logistics to coordinate delivery dates and priorities
- Determine pre-calculation times for quotes and orders
- Create BOM review process
- Review order BOMs for correctness
- Determine target times
- Act as an IFS key user
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize work processes, increase productivity, and reduce bottlenecks
- Collaborate with purchasing department to determine sensible stock levels
- Routinely evaluate target times versus reported times
- Serve as a central point of contact for operational technology issues or complaints
- Evaluate department capacity including available resources/personnel

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
- Occasional visits to customer sites may be required.
- Occasionally perform work in the manufacturing facility (dust and noise may be present)
- Training will take place in US, but travel to Germany may be needed.

- Consistent attendance is important to this role to meet commitments to our vendors and customers.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a regular Full-Time benefit eligible position. It is non-exempt per the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Standard days and office hours but may need to work other hours as needed.
TRAVEL
- Must have passport, or ability to obtain passport upon date of hire.
- Annual or bi-annual training in Germany may be needed.
- Limited travel required to visit customer sites or tradeshows.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience planning or scheduling in manufacturing environment
- Extensive experience with IFS or similar
- Strong excel skills
- Project management experience a plus
- High level of accountability
- Customer Service orientated
- Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
