About the Role

Balto, a pioneering tech startup that has built a suite of AI tools for large sales and customer service teams, is seeking a talented Product Designer to join our team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the look, feel, and functionality of our products, ensuring they are both visually engaging and exceptionally intuitive. Collaborating closely with Product Management and Engineering, you’ll delve deep into user needs, conceptualize innovative solutions, and execute designs that make a real impact. As a Product Designer at Balto, you’ll champion user-centric design, leveraging research, validation, and iteration to create seamless experiences that delight our customers. This fully remote position offers you the flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S.

We’re looking for a curious and collaborative Product Designer who excels at crafting meaningful, intuitive user experiences. To thrive in this role, you should be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for user-centered design and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with Product and Engineering teams.

 

The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, with a solid understanding of design systems and a user-first mindset. You are eager to explore and iterate on innovative designs, ensuring they align with user needs and business goals.

 

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to understand how users interact with Balto and identify what they need to succeed.
  • Own the end-to-end design process, from ideation and prototyping to testing and production.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand how your designs will be built and assist with QA before launch.
  • Apply research methodologies and design best practices to uncover opportunities for improving the supervisor and agent platforms.
  • Measure the impact of your designs through qualitative insights and metrics such as user feedback, engagement rates, or task success rates.
  • Clearly communicate your design work, rationale, and insights while contributing to a positive team culture that fosters collaboration and continuous improvement.
 

Who you are

  • You bring 2+ years of experience in digital product design, with a proven ability to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Your portfolio showcases end-to-end project ownership and strong interaction design skills.
  • You are a curious and forward-thinking designer, inspired by emerging technologies and their impact on human-computer interaction.
  • You excel in visual and written communication, clearly articulating your design work and providing thoughtful justification for your decisions.
  • You are proficient in advanced UX/UI tools such as Figma, with a deep understanding of systems thinking and component-based design patterns.
  • You value constructive feedback, using it to strengthen your work and support your team.
