The Product Marketing Manager will support and drive strategy and product marketing for makeup and nail categories. This position will work with the Director of Product Marketing as well as cross-functional teams to execute long and short-term product launches from concept to launch. As the Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of product and/or program development, and consistently deliver tasks in a timely and organized manner.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive and support all aspects of product launch between nail and makeup categories, working closely with cross-functional teams to manage and organize programs through to launch.
- Write Product and Program GTM Briefs for launches, working closely with Program stakeholders (Marketing, Sales) as well as Project Management to define strategy, requirements, and timelines.
- Develop compelling product stories and positioning that align with the brand vision and voice.
- Create competitive reports across product categories and brands to identify opportunities for product positioning, benefits, innovation, differentiation etc.
- Track, organize and update all costs for New Product Development, and continuously maintain up-to-date, accurate information for all orders and re-orders.
- Monitor sales and inventory levels and provide strategic insights and marketing strategies to move products/categories based on seasonality, trends, promotional opportunities and business needs.
- Evaluate cost margins for new and promotional products to ensure they meet the requirements of the business.
- Collaborate with senior marketing managers to determine pricing, cost targets, and positioning for new, limited edition and existing products.
- Partner with R&D to conduct competitive research and develop claims for clinical and consumer testing.
- Work closely with Project Management to monitor timelines and ensure programs are on track to launch on time.
- Work with Purchasing/Sourcing to procure promotional products within program budget and timing and align with Marketing managers and Fulfillment to execute programs to completion.
- Own all program and product calendars with the senior leadership in Marketing, Creative and Sales, and ensuring updates are communicated department wide.
- Be at the forefront of trends and innovations, and proactively bring new ideas to Marketing and Product Development.
- Must possess strong leadership, analytical, creative, and oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field
- Must possess proactive strategic and critical thinking skills and the ability to take initiative, anticipate next steps and offer recommendations.
- Proven balance of results and program driver
- Should be a self-starter, accountable and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Must be team player with the ability to build, foster and nurture relationships with members of cross-functional teams.
- Must be highly detail-oriented with unprompted follow-through.
- Trend-spotter and in tune with evolving consumer and market shifts. Forward-thinking.
- Should demonstrate a passion for the cosmetics industry.
- Must have very strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
