The mission of the Washington Wild Things' internship program is to educate its participants in all aspects of operating a professional sports organization, by observation and getting real hands-on experience. Interns learn how to work in a professional environment that requires a high energy level, an ability to perform under pressure and a strong sense of time management. The Washington Wild Things strive to successfully prepare interns to compete for positions in the professional sports industry.

Internship Summary:
The Washington Wild Things, a professional baseball team in the Frontier League, are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and creative individual for a Marketing and Events Internship. This individual will be responsible for executing all assigned event operations from prospecting potential events, to execution day of, and completing a post event recap. The Marketing and Events Internship is a perfect fit for those with high energy who excel in a fast-paced work environment and are looking to work in the sports industry. This program provides students with valuable hands-on behind-the-scenes experience.
Reports to: Vice President of Entertainment and Community Relations

Reports to: Vice President of Entertainment and Community Relations
Responsibilities:
- Execute all Wild Things and community events and project, as assigned
- Prepare promotional materials to be brought to events and given to vendors
- Assist with Mascot appearance scheduling and executing
- Create content and manage communication on social media platforms
- Assist with the creation and production of marketing materials
- Interacting in a pleasant manner with the public to market the organization
- Complete post-event evaluations and follow up with event organizers
- Research upcoming events to attend
- Work 10-20 hours per week & weekends, being a combination of in-office work and outside events
- Other duties as assigned
- Pursuing a degree in Communication Studies, Marketing, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related field preferred but not required
- Willing and able to work irregular and late hours, including holidays, nights, and weekend
- Willing and able to travel for events in the greater Washington, Pittsburgh, and Wheeling areas
- Receiving school credit for internship
- Passion for event planning with general knowledge of baseball social media platforms
- Energy to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
- Ability to assume other responsibilities as required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, possibly in high heat or rain
