Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager role will be a member of the Arnold Palmer Group Communications team and will be primarily focused on overseeing and managing all marketing aspects of the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, which includes advertising, public relations, media, social media, promotions, and special events within the tournament, as well as work closely with the Ticketing Manager on the revenue generation, expenses, and production of tournament admissions, in accordance with the high standards of Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Primary Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
• Implement all Arnold Palmer Invitational marketing, public relations, and communication strategies, in conjunction with overall Arnold Palmer Group Communications plan.
• Coordinate with team on the creation of assets across all channels and media, including video, digital, print, event, emerging technology and more.
• Craft messaging and positioning in the market to maintain the Arnold Palmer image and legacy as a compelling and cohesive brand as part of the Arnold Palmer Invitational campaign.
• Direct outside agencies and partners to ensure brand protocols, contractual stipulations and marketing initiatives are being met.
• Work with the Tournament Director, CFO and lobbyist on the planning and execution of Orange County Sports Fund.
• Work in collaboration with the API Ticketing Manager to develop marketing & admissions plan each year, to include objectives and goals, action items, community research, SWOT analysis.
• Manage tournament advertising creative concept design.
• Manage media buying/placement within the market, traditional vs. non-traditional vs. social and digital media.
• Support tournament media/public relations - local and national media relationships, tournament media center.
• Oversee tournament website and tournament social media channels.
• Work with appropriate agencies to execute marketing and admission plan, where applicable.
• Create and manage promotions that include marketing, PR, social media, and other activations with major partners.
• Research marketing opportunities within current partner list.
• Research Central Florida market to understand demographic, ticket buying habits, etc.
• Research other PGA TOUR events, sports, and entertainment groups, etc. for best practices.
• Serve as main liaison with PGA Tour on all Tour Marketing and PR protocols and initiatives which includes Media rights and limitations, competition footage usage and approvals and enhanced Social Media campaigns
• Develop and maintain relationships within community as outreach and cross promotions opportunities (local Universities, Orlando Magic, CFHLA, Orlando Soccer).
• Prepare and reconcile annual budgets for marketing, analyzing variances and initiating correction action.
• Work with Communications team with regarding cross-over opportunities for marketing and admissions.
• Deliver a positive, seamless experience for attendees of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
• Liaise with the Arnold and Winnie Palmer Foundation team to further the legacy of Arnold and Winnie Palmer.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
• Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Arnold Palmer Cup Creative, Media and Social Media Oversight

o Oversee Arnold Palmer Cup website and social media channels.

o Create and manage promotions that include marketing, pr, social media and other activations with major Arnold Palmer Cup partners and licensees.
• Perform any other duties or special projects that may be required by management.

Qualifications and Characteristics Required

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job without without reasonable accommodations:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Advertising, or a similar field.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years' previous marketing experience. Ability to communicate at all levels, develop and manage sales and marketing, advertising, and media plans for a major sporting event.
• Self-starter highly motivated, personable, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good writing ability using the proper use of the English language
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to develop and manage departmental budget/profit and loss statements.
• Possess strong organization skills, exhibit attention to detail and proper record keeping methods.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and provide various accurate reports on a timely basis.
• Excellent computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and the ability to learn basic HTML software for management of tournament website.
• Ability to exhibit patience and deal with unusual or difficult situations.
• Ability to interact positively with clients and other employees. Exhibit courteousness, empathy, and discretion.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule.

Physical/Mental Requirements
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs.

• Licensed driver
