About the team
As part of the global product & technology communications team, you will lead the team in highlighting TikTok's consumer product vision around the user experience and our commitment to constant innovation. We're looking for someone to lead across creator tools, our overall user experience, and the livestreaming platform. The role will collaborate closely with our Product, Marketing, Creator, Public Policy, and Legal teams across various topics, products, policies, partnerships, and events.
Every day, one billion people turn to TikTok to be entertained, earn a living, and connect with their communities-and the product is the bedrock of those experiences. While overseeing the larger consumer innovation story, this position will also play a closer role across experimental TikTok products, third-party integrations, and reactive media handling. In this exciting team, you'll work cross-functionally to showcase the innovative features that power our core user experience.
You should have a proven ability to distill and communicate easily across a wide range of audiences and create clear, crisp strategies, talking points, and assets that bring our story to life and build brand affinity. This role will be responsible for managing the consumer product communications team, seeing business opportunities across many different verticals to tell a bigger-picture story. You can quickly identify areas of opportunity, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and collaborate with empathy and a people-first mindset.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with TikTok's consumer product vision and business objectives. Ensure all messaging is cohesive, strategically aligned, and effectively conveys our core values and goals.
- Work cross-functionally with regional and global communications teams to drive clear narratives about TikTok products and platform benefits.
- Partner closely with teams across Product, Trust and Safety, E-Commerce, Public Policy, Creator, and Legal to craft and refine messaging that supports TikTok's product innovation story. Foster collaboration to ensure consistency in communication across various platforms and channels.
- Lead the development of media strategies that resonate with diverse audiences. Prioritize tactics that showcase TikTok's product innovations, discovery opportunities, and cultural impact. Scale messaging and toolkits across global audiences
- Serve as a senior media handler for inquiries related to TikTok's consumer products. Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and aligned communication with the media, emphasizing TikTok's strategic direction and product offerings.
- Conduct continuous analyses of market trends, cultural shifts, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and anticipate challenges. Utilize these insights to adapt and refine communication strategies, ensuring TikTok remains competitive and responsive to market changes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Passion for consumer product storytelling, complemented by strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills - a solid capacity to both think and do
- Availability to work in a hybrid model, both in-person and remotely.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in leading campaigns and events, developing assets, data storytelling, media relations, and issue handling.
- Exceptional listening, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong bias-to-action, adept and agile, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in day-to-day media relations and/or agency background
- Experience with social media or search platforms plus
- Respect for and desire to learn from other cultures
- Previous experience working with global companies is a plus
