About The Role
We're looking for an energetic, hard-working Marketing Manager to join our fast-paced, growing team. The Marketing Manager is an internal role that will promote and represent History Factory's work internally and externally to educate and entertain audiences as well as attract leads to the company. The role is the glue that holds projects together and requires a blend of creative marketing skills and technical expertise in marketing operations, automation, and data analysis. This is an internal company role that will manage the planning and tactical implementation of assigned programs as well as manage History Factory relationships relative to those programs. Additionally, this role requires technical oversight and management of the marketing platforms and applications that are currently in use by History Factory, such as Hubspot. This role works in close collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications and/or management team. The Marketing Manager will serve as a primary day-to-day contact with the History Factory team. This job is a hybrid role with occasional travel. There is an expectation for in-person attendance 20-25% in the Dupont Circle Area.

What You'll Bring to this Role:

Content Marketing
  • Provide copywriting and copy editing for a variety of platforms - social posts, blog posts, email marketing, newsletters - and aligning and making recommendations to the editorial content calendar.
  • Support the development of an editorial calendar for 2025 and beyond, with the Director
  • Identify any industry trends or issues where we need a POV, and support producing thought pieces or actions to address.

General Marketing
  • Take the lead on social media community management, identifying key influencers in the market to engage with History Factory content based on 2024/2025 editorial calendar
  • Take a proactive stance towards marketing our business, and highlight areas we can improve or new ideas we can try.
  • Have a working knowledge of all aspects of the marketing mix, particularly SEO, SEM, One-on-one communications (email), social, digital media, PR
  • Experience with reporting and insights on marketing content performance

Project Management
  • Take ownership of various projects, and ensure their delivery - on brief, on time, and on budget. These projects will mainly involve innovative uses of content, including (but not limited to): social posts across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and X; marketing and sales collateral development; digital advertising graphics; and video assets.
  • Prepare and brief creative teams and other external resources as needed for successful project completion. Must know how to write compelling, succinct creative briefs.

Tools & Analysis
  • Technical Marketing: Implement and manage marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo) to streamline processes and improve lead generation efforts.
  • Data Analysis: Develop and manage a comprehensive digital marketing dashboard with an external agency partner, utilizing data from SEO, Google Analytics, CRM, and email marketing platforms to track metrics and lead generation. Interpret and report on the performance of SEO, SEM, and email campaigns, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Marketing Operations: Manage and optimize workflows within PM/CRM tools (e.g., Monday, HubSpot, Sprout Social) for efficient campaign execution and reporting.
  • Basic Design: Basic design and video editing capabilities using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Web and Content Management: Manage content on WordPress and have familiarity with podcast publishing and promotion tools such as Soundcloud and Headliner.
