Position Overview
We are seeking a Publisher who loves local journalism, has a deep commitment to community engagement, and a proven ability to grow our brand through innovative internal solutions and external advertising opportunities. The role oversees operations of our DFW office and 10 area publications, managing a talented team of journalists, designers, and sales professionals. You'll be the face of Community Impact in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro, representing a brand that people trust and personally engaging with readers, and pitching larger advertisers. This position is for someone who is energized by leading people, growing a business, and making a meaningful difference in their community.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Innovation
- Drive growth and innovation for Community Impact in the Dallas/Fort Worth region.
- Lead a team of journalists, designers, and sales professionals to deliver exceptional news and advertising solutions.
- Develop and implement creative strategies for increasing digital and print engagement.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
Community Engagement
- Build and nurture relationships with local community leaders, business owners, and government officials.
- Stay deeply connected to the needs and aspirations of the community to ensure our content is relevant, timely, and impactful.
- Partner with grassroots organizations, community groups, and local stakeholders to amplify our presence.
Sales & Growth
- Oversee the sales team's efforts to develop and execute creative media solutions for local businesses.
- Drive expansion of our digital presence, identifying new opportunities in both the print and digital spaces.
- Coach and mentor team members to become leaders in their fields, empowering them to achieve their potential.
Visionary Leadership
- Collaborate with executive leadership to shape long-term Dallas/Fort Worth market strategies.
- Identify growth opportunities, new markets, and innovative approaches to engaging our audience.
- Encourage experimentation with content, technologies, and new formats to keep Community Impact at the forefront of local journalism.

Qualifications : We understand you may not have all of these things, but this is a good look at an ideal candidate:
- A passion for local journalism and community building
- 3+ years of media leadership experience- print, digital, or broadcast
- Strong background in driving sales, growth, and innovation
- Familiarity with the Dallas/Fort Worth market is a plus
