At 140 West, you will be part of the energy that’s evolving the Verizon brand as a leading technology player. The Tribeca space brings together some of the industry’s sharpest minds across a multitude of subject areas, building an integrated team that can be responsive and innovative across every Verizon touchpoint.
This ACD, Copy Writer will exhibit strong writing skills and an ability to collaborate with the creative and design team to ensure quality, verbal and visual consistency, and timeliness of material.
What you'll be doing:
Developing compelling creative concepts and high quality verbal content, within brand and on strategy, across a large variety of print and digital media, specifically geared towards our multiple Retail channels.
Writing creative and effective marketing copy for Retail following a creative brief.
Researching clients, their competitors and the target audience to support creative strategy and inform the execution.
Providing writing support for aligned client group(s), as well as supporting projects from other clients.
Collaborating with the creative team to meet specific project objectives.
Producing original, clear and credible copy and are accountable for the final development of creative assets.
Ensuring accuracy, attention to detail and overall meets or exceeds writing objectives.
Ensuring messaging brand guidelines and directives are adopted and adhered to in all executions.
Executing writing requests with accuracy, producing zero errors in work.
Editing and proofreading.
What we’re looking for:
You'll need to have:
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a cominbation of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
External and/or in-house agency experience.
Willingness to provide portfolio.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or related field.
Five or more years of professional level writing experience.
Are a pro at developing creative concepts with a knack for thinking creatively.
Compelling and thoughtful writing, creativity is your hallmark but you know how to adapt your writing to the assignment.
As a leader, you’re able to build engagement, motivation, and a sense of ownership in your team members.
Find enjoyment leading, inspiring, and managing your team members to deliver outstanding experiences.
Experience with major retailers or national specialty stores.
Demonstrated proficient expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat).
Proficiency with AP and Chicago Manual of Style.
An understanding of writing applications in traditional and emerging channels.
Ability to maintained a consistent voice and audience focus in writing.
Ability to “boil down” verbose content to the “essence” of the main message in a concise, effective manner.
Consistent quality control in work.
An understanding of specific channels or vertical markets as required by job function.
Proven ability to adapt style of copy to various audiences, purposes, or media.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $122,000.00 and $226,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
