The Senior Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping the perception of LRS as a leading waste and recycling company. This position will be responsible for developing and executing effective communication strategies to engage both internal and external stakeholders, including customers. The Specialist will develop engaging content for internal audiences and external stakeholders and develop social media strategies to increase our brand's presence across online platforms.

- Internal Communications
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies that align with the company's mission and goals.
- Craft clear and impactful messaging to effectively communicate important information to employees.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather and disseminate relevant information to employees.
- Create and maintain a variety of communication channels, such as email, intranet, and digital signage, to reach employees across the organization.
- Monitor and track the effectiveness of internal communication efforts and adjust as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely communication.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in internal communications to continuously improve strategies.
- Plan and execute company-wide events and initiatives to promote employee engagement and foster a positive work culture.
- Work closely with leadership to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with company values.
- External Communications
- Develop and execute communication strategies to enhance the company's reputation and brand awareness.
- Develop and implement effective customer communication strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key industry influencers and journalists, as well as support media relations efforts.
- Create and manage social media content to engage with target audiences.
- Develop and oversee crisis communication plans.
- Content Creation
- Create compelling stories and content for various channels including web, blog and social media.
- Collaborate with design team to create visually appealing materials.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
- Measurement and Analysis
- Track and analyze communication metrics to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on communication activities and results.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and people skills.
- Strong understanding of sustainability and safety principles.
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel.
