We have an outstanding opportunity for a mid-career professional at our North American headquarters as a Business Segment Manager, responsible for multiple product lines across the surfacing portfolio and key commercial verticals including Healthcare, Laboratory/Scientific and Retail.
The Business Segment Manager will be an integral part of the Formica Brand Marketing Team, reporting to the Marketing Director - Surfaces. S/he will be the expert in the customer journey of the respective products and his/her respective market segments. S/he will own the product lifecycle while ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. The role will work closely with many stakeholders in the Formica organization including the Sales Team, Creative Services Team, Digital Marketing, Design and R&D.

S/he must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the business expert for assigned product lines and market segments across the portfolio of surfacing solutions. Drive product understanding, channel mapping, customer journey development, and product strategy, ideation, execution and analysis.
- Work collaboratively with the Sales Team, Creative Services and Digital Marketing to develop go-to-market plans, positioning strategies, training and sales enablement materials to support the achievement of annual business goals.
- Serve as a key marketing point of contact and presenter for products and segments in customer presentations and pitches. Help lead product training and new product introduction workshops/webinars for internal and external selling teams.
- Lead market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and critical insights across the competitive landscape. Share learnings across the organization and use them to drive greater growth and market effectiveness.
- Define innovation requirements based on market insights, customer feedback, and business priorities, and then collaborate with cross-functional partners to prioritize concepts, and drive development and innovation initiatives.
- Drive development and usage of analytics to track product performance and key metrics and build/evolve strategies to optimize market adoption, growth and profitability.
- Assist with A&D-targeted media and PR plan development, trade shows and events, always-on SEM, and e-marketing, social media and website content development.
- BA/BS degree in General Management, Marketing, Communications or relevant field.
- Five-plus years of experience working in Marketing, Sales or related required. Corporate product or segment marketing experience preferred.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to evaluate complex issues and develop actionable plans.
- Project management experience and expertise in managing projects simultaneously required.
- Demonstrated skills and experience working with MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint..
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional teams and build/maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to prioritize projects, work within short time frames and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop effective content, craft narratives and present to groups of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong initiative and ability to progress projects and work independently.
- Regular travel with field sales, for conferences, trade shows and customer meetings in the US, Canada and Mexico.
