The Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) business unit and the Medication Delivery and Vascular Care (MDVC) platform plays a key role in providing medical devices critical to the delivery of healthcare. The team is comprised of individuals passionate about our role and our legacy as a company and excited about our continued contribution to healthcare.

OVERVIEW

This role, reporting into the Business Director of the Medication Delivery business, will be responsible for leading the Sharps portfolio, a $65M+ business that continues to deliver strong returns for BD.  Together with the Business Director, the successful candidate will develop strategies and tactics to maintain the current portfolio, improve profitability and efficiency, and drive growth with strategic innovation.

The successful candidate will also work on broader platform initiatives that are designed to improve the operational health of the business.  This position will be coordinating efforts across multiple BD functions that drive simplification, architecture, lifecycle management and business process improvements.

The successful candidate will need to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. Resourcefulness and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities is key, as is the ability to work effectively across functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Together with the Business Director, the successful candidate will set the short-term and long-term global marketing strategy for Sharps franchise and solidify the brand’s positioning within the larger BD portfolio.  Continue to drive differentiation within the BD Sharps franchise.

  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure supply continuity to customers, working with regions to support forecasting, mitigating risks, and finding opportunities for business growth.

  • Active participation as a core team member representing the marketing/commercial function on existing projects, develop targeted commercial campaigns, drive price optimization, and forecast global demand.

  • Develop the product lifecycle management program to simplify the Sharps franchise.  Evaluate and consolidate suppliers to optimize network.  Lead development of pricing strategies to optimize profitability for the platform.

  • Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings on improving the operational health of the MDVC business.  Document and communicate the results and effort.

  • Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions across the manufacturing and distribution network.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • BS degree required and in Business Administration or Marketing preferred.

  • Masters or MBA preferred

  • 3-5 years experience with proven commercial capabilities and eye for business in the medical device or healthcare industry.

  • Experience working optimally across business groups, cross functional partners, regions, and external stake holders.

  • Experience in product or channel management, marketing strategy and execution. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 

  • Highly meticulous with the ability to analyze and organize data into substantial presentations.

  • Proficiency in using market research for commercial tasks.  

  • Strong change management experience vital.

  • Effective in collaborating with others to meet project goals, timelines and deliverables. 

  • 10% - 20% travel
