SCOPE:
The Marketing Director is responsible for the management, execution, and evaluation of effective and innovative marketing plans, brand development, public relations, and communications that align with Hills Bank's strategic and growth goals. This role will supervise the internal marketing department, and will oversee the redesign of the website, expansion of data-driven marketing systems, and growth of digital marketing efforts, in addition to conventional brand, marketing, and business development functions.

SCOPE:
The Marketing Director is responsible for the management, execution, and evaluation of effective and innovative marketing plans, brand development, public relations, and communications that align with Hills Bank's strategic and growth goals. This role will supervise the internal marketing department, and will oversee the redesign of the website, expansion of data-driven marketing systems, and growth of digital marketing efforts, in addition to conventional brand, marketing, and business development functions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Creates and presents the annual marketing plan and strategy across the Bank. Determines key performance indicators for the Marketing Department and tracks on a regular basis for reporting to management.
- Develops and administers the bank's marketing plan, budget, policies, and procedures.
- Provides management oversite of the Bank's advertising and promotional activities.
- Collaborates with business line leaders to determine business development opportunities and creates targeted, measurable marketing strategies to achieve overall bank objectives and optimize communication effectiveness.
- Identifies and leverages the data needed in order to deliver relevant marketing initiatives in support of business development goals and to improve/enhance the customer experience.
- Provides reporting on campaign results, return on investment on marketing programs, and goal achievement from team activities and optimizes activities based on results.
- Oversees the creation and maintenance of marketing technology capabilities, including email marketing, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, and the Hills Bank website.
- Responsible for day-to-day management of the department. Selects, trains, coaches, and develops direct report employees. Manages staff ensuring quality and timely work completion. Sets goals and evaluates individual performance. Regularly communicates policies, goals, and results.
- Oversees marketing third party vendors.
- OTHER DUTIES:
- Serves as the primary liaison with media partners, negotiating annual contracts to support the Bank's marketing objectives.
- Collaborates with Information Services and Operations as new customer-facing technologies and delivery channels are researched and developed.
- Attends bank sponsored and community events to positively represent the bank.
- Acts as a primary media contact and spokesperson for the Bank.
- Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job-related seminars, conferences and workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field required.
- A minimum of 10 years related experience in marketing required. Previous experience with financial services company preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years in a management/leadership role with responsibility for creating functional strategies and specific marketing department objectives required.
- Solid knowledge and experience with digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, and social media channels required.
- Must be willing to participate and take a leadership role in community activities and events, which will include some evening and weekend hours.
