Rivers Health is seeking a full-time Manager of Marketing and Public Relations.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Rivers Health Manager of Marketing & PR is a dynamic and creative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and manages multiple projects daily. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Rivers Health, this role is key in developing and executing marketing and communications strategies for Rivers Health (RH), while also being matrixed to the Marshall Health Network (MHN) Strategic Marketing team. This structure ensures alignment with MHN's broader goals while leveraging its resources and expertise.
Guided by the MHN Mission and Vision and RH strategic goals, the successful candidate in this role will develop and implement marketing and outreach plans that nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including patients, staff, physicians, local businesses/agencies, industry leaders, and community-at-large) that build loyalty and preference to Rivers Health's programs and services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Manager of Marketing & PR at Rivers Health (RH) will oversee a broad range of marketing, public relations, and community engagement activities, reinforcing the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization and the Marshall Health Network (MHN). Below is a detailed overview of the key responsibilities
Marketing & Strategy Development:
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work with senior leadership to craft a marketing strategy that enhances Rivers Health's community presence and positions RH as a key player within MHN.
- Public and Physician Relations: Monitor trends in public and physician relations, as well as competitor activities, strengths, services, and emerging healthcare trends. Provide recommendations to strengthen RH's position as the preferred provider.
- Marketing Projects: Develop and execute marketing initiatives in partnership with MHN's Strategic Marketing team, ensuring alignment with brand standards and strategic goals.
- Copywriting: Serve as the primary copywriter for RH, ensuring that all content is accurate, clear, and consistent with brand guidelines, collaborating with various hospital departments for accuracy.
- Media Content: Write and distribute news releases, feature stories, and other communications to highlight RH's services, new technology, and special events.
- Internal Coordination: Work closely with hospital departments, physicians, and subject matter experts to ensure content is comprehensive and accurate, while adhering to the organization's messaging and branding standards.
- Event Organization: Plan and coordinate special events such as open houses, health fairs, and other community outreach activities designed to raise awareness and foster community engagement.
- Community Representation: Function as a representative for Rivers Health in community events, building and maintaining relationships with local organizations, businesses, and agencies.
- Speaker Engagement: Recruit and coordinate hospital speakers for civic, business, and service organization events, focusing on educating the public on health-related topics and strengthening community ties.
- Annual Marketing Plan: Collaborate with the COO and MHN Strategic Marketing team to develop an annual marketing plan and corresponding budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for maximum impact.
- Campaign Development: Design and implement advertising campaigns that align with the strategic objectives and budgetary constraints of the organization.
- Internal Messaging: Focus on internal communications to keep all stakeholders-including employees, medical staff, board members, and volunteers-well-informed about hospital services and activities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with both internal and external teams to increase hospital visibility and promote community engagement.
- Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with community stakeholders, local businesses, and agencies, ensuring ongoing support for RH's programs and services.
- Provider & Staff Relations: Maintain and strengthen relationships with providers and their office staff, ensuring engagement with and promotion of RH's services and offerings.
- Required: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, required. An additional Preferred: Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Management
- Experience: Three years' experience in journalism, communications, public relations, required; five or more years preferred.
- Exhibits analytical ability to thoroughly understand the system's mission and organizational structure.
- Must have the ability to maintain professional conduct in all work-related and/or emergent situations.
- Promotes Rivers Health's role in the community and effectively enhances its overall image.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks. Possesses the planning and organizational skills necessary to conduct programs and activities
- Exhibits diplomacy and problem-solving skills necessary to effectively support diversity of people and situations of all ages.
- Possesses outstanding interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal skills. Uses persuasive communication, leadership, and relationship-building.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PageMaker) Adobe
- Knowledge of Silverstripe or other content management systems and experience with Google AdWords.
