Job Summary:
The Digital Content Specialist will creatively contribute to the storytelling efforts of the National Baseball Hall of Fame by developing high-impact social media and web content. The ideal candidate will have a background working in social media with a concentration in copywriting, graphic design, illustration or web production.
Position Type:
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position that will work in-person at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY. The salary range for this position is $38,000-44,000. Benefits associated with this position include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, medical/dental FSA, retirement, and paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays). This position reports to the Director of Digital Content.
Essential Job Functions:
Typical Equipment Used:
Ability to operate a computer and use general word processing and database programs; ability to use a scanner and photocopier; ability to operate a digital camera and video camera.
Typical Physical Demands:
Must be able to move 50 pounds with or without accommodations and perform repetitive actions over time. Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday.

Essential Job Functions:
- Manage and produce engaging content for the day-to-day needs across all Hall of Fame social media channels including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and emerging platforms.
- Coordinate all aspects of web-based operations, including but not limited to vendor relationships and content generation/management.
- Work collaboratively with departments across the institution to develop and execute campaigns for social and web, including content, templates and more.
- Serve as liaison with solution providers for day-to-day management of Hall of Fame website and third-party architecture.
- Oversee and assure website is continually monitored and regularly updated.
- Maintain and update daily, weekly and yearlong institutional content calendars for organizational messages.
- Along with Communications Department, contribute to shape of comprehensive digital strategy and brand identity for the institution, including core messaging, tone of voice, and look and feel unique to multiple digital channels.
- Serve membership/development, retail and education constituents through e-news and targeted content.
- Identify key storylines across professional baseball and benchmark best practices against clubs and similar institutions to stay on trend and promote the mission of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
- Contribute to the Communications Department's content efforts on Induction Weekend, Classic Weekend, and other signature events.
- Participate in team meetings, providing input and suggestions that inform decision making.
- Lead or participate in daily and weekly brainstorming for social media content within the Communications Department.
- Assist with development of content for additional Hall of Fame efforts.
- Manage forms, newsletters and analytics for web and social media presences.
- Provide public relations/communications teams with support during media shoots, events and activities.
- EDUCATION:
Undergraduate degree in applicable field, i.e. Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, etc. or equivalent work experience. - EXPERIENCE:
One to three years of experience in a sports or social media content creation/distribution environment. Experience working in a sports, museum or journalism-related field ideal. - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e. After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc). Previous motion graphic design experience a plus.
- Understanding of web operation technology, such as HTML, CSS and open-source content management systems.
- Familiarity with email marketing best practices and email KPIs, metrics and reporting.
- Strong story development skills with an emphasis on feature writing.
- Ability to plan projects, work to timelines, and provide regular project status and updates.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects while interacting with different functional teams.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining speed and consistency.
- A passion for baseball and appreciation of its history.
