Position Summary: The Marketing & Communications intern reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager and is responsible for promoting the club through owned assets and earned media. The position will include management of team information, website, and email content in addition to supporting partnership and match day activations. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of soccer, a foundation in marketing and communications, a desire to communicate with fans and the ability to produce creative and innovative content that drives engagement with the brand.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist leadership in the development of a brand position and a consistent brand message through all internal and external forms of communication, including digital media and content, game operations, events and fan communications
- Support the development of departmental publications (e.g., match recap, media advisories, media guide, etc.)
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within industry and local market media
- Monitor and report on team coverage in the local and national media
- Compile, archive and distribute local and national media clips
- Attend and work all home games during internship
- Contribute to coverage of all road matches during internship
- Help maintain and update all Hartford Athletic social platforms
- Pitch content ideas
- Assist conducting interviews with Hartford Athletic players and coaches
- Assist writing and editing features
- Perform research on popular trends
- Create and execute social media contests and promotions
- Must have a strong knowledge of soccer
- News writing and editing skills
- Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok
- Experience with Adobe Suite including, but not limited to, Photoshop and Premier Pro
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays on an as-needed basis as well as for all match days during internship
- Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required
- The position will require in-person work
