About
The Global Product & RD team is building up core TikTok products to ensure TikTok continues a healthy growth, deliver the best product experience to all of our users, build the most attractive features to help users enjoy their time on TikTok, earn trust in privacy protection, and more.
The Global Product team is growing exponentially. The business lines are ranging from Monetization Technology, Data, Machine Learning, System, Infrastructure, AR Effects, Security Technology and more.
About the team
The UG (User Growth) Design Team at TikTok is dedicated to enhancing user engagement and expanding TikTok's global user base through strategic product and marketing design initiatives. Our focus encompasses various platforms and devices, including tablets, TikTok.com, TikTok for Apple Vision Pro, CarPlay, Android Auto, and more. We tailor our designs to suit local markets, such as Japan, Korea, and others we may expand into in the future. Each country has its independent app, meticulously crafted by our UG design team to meet the unique needs and preferences of users.
Responsibilities
- Design for TikTok Tablet, Web and related AR platforms that target global users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, researchers, UX writers, and engineers.
- Participate in every aspect of the product development process, from generating ideas to refining pixel-perfect designs before launch.
- Rapidly prototype conceptual product ideas, design user flows based on data analysis and user research, gather feedback from various stakeholders, iterate on designs, and deliver products with the best user experience.
- Continuously optimize and take responsibility for the overall product experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in UX and UI design, having led multiple design projects from strategy to launch, with strong attention to detail.
- Familiar with Design System for mobile, tablet as well as desktop.
- Ability to iterate quickly and generate a wide range of design concepts.
- Open-minded and receptive to feedback, with a patient attitude.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of handling rapid changes and less-than-ideal situations.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating your concepts, vision, and decision-making.
- Global vision and mentality, actively paying attention to global internet products.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience designing UX for consumer-facing products across mobile, tablet and web.
- Experience with A/B testing and data-driven practices.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
- Familiarity with front-end programming.
- Familiarity with prototyping tools.
- Passion and enthusiasm for TikTok and its community!
