About The Role: This position is responsible for advancing accessibility initiatives and promoting Computer/Electronic Accommodation Program’s (CAP) mission within the Department of Defense (DoD). Working closely with the federal client and the Outreach and Communications Team Lead, this role enhances technology accessibility. Through internal and external communication initiatives, this position improves accessibility across the DoD. Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management. Collaborate with the Outreach Team lead to develop and execute marketing campaigns that increase awareness of CAP’s mission and the benefits of Assistive Technology through multiple channels including inter-agency communications, social media posts, newsletters, press releases, promotional materials and website updates. Leverage strong communication and customer engagement skills to effectively connect with the target audience across various channels, including social media platforms and website engagement initiatives. Develop and execute comprehensive communication, engagement, marketing, and social media strategies. Attend local and non-local events to increase awareness of CAP. Create engaging written content aligned with CAPs mission for social media posts, newsletters, press releases, promotional materials, and website updates. Manage CAP's social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement monitoring. Assist in organizing, promoting, and attending CAP events, including webinars, conferences, and industry engagements. Ensure consistency in CAP's brand messaging and visual identity across all communication channels. Collaborate with the Outreach Team to analyze branding effectiveness and propose strategies for improvement. Monitor and analyze communication metrics, such as website traffic and social media engagement. Prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide insights for optimization. Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including federal clients, team leads, DoD civilians, Service members, supervisors, and military treatment facilities through regular site visits and direct engagement. Utilize expertise in assistive tools to significantly contribute to the overall improvement of information and communication technology accessibility within the DoD. Proactively research advancements in communication technologies relevant to the DoD, regularly evaluating emerging tools and platforms to assess their potential for enhancing communication effectiveness. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field is required. Eight (8) years’ experience working in communications and/or customer engagement is required. Two (2) or more years of experience in communications or outreach working with assistive technologies and accommodations is required. Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility guidelines and requirements is required. Understanding of assistive technologies and accessibility principles is preferred. Experience with the DoD and its stakeholders is preferred. Security Clearance: ability to acquire and maintain a Secret Clearance. What We Offer: Competitive salary based on geographic location.
