About this Position: We are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Strategic Communications Specialist to provide comprehensive support for the Senior Director of Strategic Communications. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our communications team, working closely with clients to deliver impactful messaging, engagement strategies, and seamless execution of strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strategic communications or journalism background, with strong long-form content creation skills and the ability to transform social media into cohesive narratives that support client goals. They will be responsible for creating content that aligns with the client’s voice and positioning, ensuring confidence in our ability to deliver high-quality, strategic communications. Contract to Hire Objectives & Responsibilities: Content Development & Editing: Write, edit, and refine long-form content, including one-pagers, engagement guides, website copy, blogs, and other digital or print materials. Social Media Oversight: Direct, review, and approve social media content to ensure it aligns with strategic goals and maintains brand consistency. Thought Leadership Strategy: Develop and implement a thought leadership strategy for senior executives, crafting high-impact messaging that positions them as industry leaders through LinkedIn articles, speeches, and public engagements. Performance Metrics & KPIs: Assist in setting key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor tracking, and analyze metrics to measure the success of communication strategies. Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Senior Director, addressing client inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction. Current Events Awareness: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, news, and events to keep content relevant and responsive to the current landscape. A background in public health, mental health or working with the military community is a bonus. Presentation Development & Delivery: Prepare and present decks and other presentation materials, articulating strategic insights and updates to both internal teams and clients. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. 5 years of experience in a communications role, with a strong portfolio of long-form content, digital marketing, and client engagement. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strategic and creative approach to content. Strong understanding of social media best practices and digital marketing metrics. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in presentation software (Google Slides) and project management tools (e.g., Asana). Strong interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining positive client relationships and effectively communicating complex information.
