Assistant Controller (Senior Accountant) Location: Orlando, FL $85,000 - $95,000 (+bonus/equity) About the Company: Our client is a top-tier service organization with a strong national presence, seeking an experienced Assistant Controller (Senior Accountant) in the Orlando area. Position Overview: The Assistant Controller (Senior Accountant) will play a critical role in managing and overseeing accounting functions, from general ledger entries to financial reporting. This role requires a strong foundation in corporate accounting, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Key Responsibilities: Financial Analysis & Reporting: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts. Prepare and review balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports summarizing the current and projected financial position of the company. Audit & Compliance: Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers; substantiate individual transactions prior to monthly close. Accounting Controls: Establish, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and control procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards. Account Management: Maintain the chart of accounts and assign entries to the appropriate accounts, ensuring consistency in financial reporting. Financial Advisory: Provide financial insights to management to support decision-making. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; MBA is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in corporate accounting or general ledger accounting. Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Attributes: Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to building a long-term career and relocate, if needed.
