JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Product Marketing Specialist
STATUS: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing
FULL/PART-TIME: Full-Time
LOCATION: Hybrid - Minimum 2 Days p/week in office (Syracuse or Holland Patent, NY)

THE MISSION:
Work cross-functionally to master an in-depth understanding of Northland and the problems we solve, create compelling content, and provide resources to our go-to-market teams to enhance our market position.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Becomes the subject matter expert on all Northland product offerings Gains a deep understanding of customer personas and pain points, Northland products and harness market differentiators
Stays up to date with telecommunications and digital transformation trends Proactively researches trends to understand what's happening in the market and incorporates findings into insight for product development and marketing
Analyzes and reports on market share and identifies growth opportunities
Creates content from expertise and research Crafts engaging audience-specific marketing content, including datasheets, solution briefs, web content, presentations, whitepapers, and other forms of thought leaderships
Articulates unique value propositions
Works cross-functionally with internal teams Collaborates with Product Line Management by: Providing consumer insight and market intelligence
Developing go-to-market campaigns to increase market share
Determining strategic opportunities for future growth
Creating launch plans, messaging, content, and internal communications
Assists the Sales Team through: Crafting deal-specific competitive questions
Writing battlecards and developing sales enablement content to educate prospects
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree
3 years of experience in product marketing
Well-organized with attention to detail
Strong work ethic, ability to operate independently, and a learner mindset
Ability to take ownership of projects, taking them from idea to execution, to results
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent research and presentation skills
Technical aptitude and an innate curiosity for figuring things out
Understand and have mastery of customer personas and journey mapping
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS : Experience with product marketing in telecommunications
Basic video editing skills and an understanding of editing software
SCORECARD METRICS : Content that generates demand for products (inbound per Quarter TBD)
Contributes a minimum of 20% to the total lead generation goal
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
A valid driver's license or ability to access transportation to attend work group and organization meetings is necessary.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES USED:
Ability to use voicemail, telephone, calculator, computer, printer, and monitors.
