Position Summary
The Assistant Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for providing administrative and analytical support in the development, execution, and maintenance of media plans while acquiring a working knowledge of cross-department collaboration and problem solving within a fast-paced, full-service ad agency. The Assistant Media Planner/Buyer works closely with media managers to develop and implement media campaigns tailored to reach specific audiences as efficiently and effectively as possible, taking into account current media consumption habits to ensure scale and relevance of each media buy.

Position Summary
The Assistant Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for providing administrative and analytical support in the development, execution, and maintenance of media plans while acquiring a working knowledge of cross-department collaboration and problem solving within a fast-paced, full-service ad agency. The Assistant Media Planner/Buyer works closely with media managers to develop and implement media campaigns tailored to reach specific audiences as efficiently and effectively as possible, taking into account current media consumption habits to ensure scale and relevance of each media buy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with media team managers on development, negotiation, implementation, tracking, measurement, and optimization of media campaigns
- Develop and present POVs, media analyses, and recommendations to agency team and clients
- Meet with vendor representatives to further knowledge of available media opportunities and assess them for possible inclusion in future media planning
- Utilize consumer data and media measurement tools such as Kantar, MRI-Simmons, and SEMRush to conduct research and generate appropriate reports (target audience development and media consumption, competitive analysis, performance tracking, budget reporting, etc.)
- Reconcile monthly billing invoices and discrepancies to ensure agency and client budget compliance
- Ensure orders are sent and received by agency vendors
- Become proficient at navigating self-serve media platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook Ads, Manager, LinkedIn Ads, etc.) to aid in setup of campaigns, monitor spend, and access reporting to analyze performance of in-market campaigns
- Compile media reports from various software and social platforms
- Coordinate deliverables with account team, including collecting creative specs, relaying creative deadlines, and assisting in campaign setup and QA
- General assistance to the Media Department as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in media planning, advertising, or a related role
- Fast learner who easily adapts to various agency and client demands
- A strong work ethic with the self-motivation needed to exceed expectations
- Familiarity with digital media buying platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.) preferred
- Knowledge of programmatic advertising and media buying processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exemplary organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- The drive and ability to prioritize while working on multiple assignments under deadline pressures
- A passion for media, advertising and staying updated with industry trends
