Job Description Location: New York, NY Condé Nast is seeking a Vice President of Digital Media to drive consumer acquisition and monetization across our Subscription, Commerce and Box Continuity businesses. Proficiency in performance media buy management across platforms (open and closed), programmatic and in-app in support of our brand portfolio – The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Bon Appetit, Wired, GQ, Conde Nast Traveler, Architectural Digest, Allure and others. A successful candidate will be highly analytical and has experience managing campaigns and large budgets. The Vice President will oversee paid and earned media initiatives. Location: NYC, 1WTC Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Build, optimize and execute paid digital strategies for Conde Nast brands in support of customer acquisition and monetization for our subscription, e-commerce and box continuity businesses. Establish overall revenue goals and budget allocation for various revenue streams based on return-on-variable investment. Build strong relationships with marketing platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook, LinkedIn, programmatic) for innovative acquisition opportunities & partners/agencies that can drive scalable acquisition profitably across these platforms. Partner closely with NYC-based internal constituents, particularly SVP Consumer Growth and Product Marketing, SVP Global Consumer Revenue, SVP Commerce, Global VP Data Products, and VP Data Solutions, Engineering, and VP, Audience Strategy to develop capabilities and strategies that deliver against brand, audience and revenue goals, maximizing spend ROI across the entire consumer journey. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure innovative and competitive media strategies. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of paid media SMEs (6+), ensuring professional growth and development. Advocate on behalf of the team with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment, driving high performance and accountability. Hire, onboard and develop top talent. Testing + Optimization: Optimize spending strategy leveraging key target audience segments, geographies, and audience funnel opportunities. Create A/B testing frameworks. Consistent reviews of subscription pricing across brands and determining opportunities to test price/offer in an effort to increase LTV and revenue. Build new partnerships to diversify channel spend options. Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage the paid media budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective media spending - P&L experience required with a “revenue-first” mindset. Support the team with budget planning and forecasting efforts throughout the year. Analytics and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to track, analyze, and report on campaign performance and key metrics. A strong POV on attribution and advancement of attribution in the post iOS14/privacy world. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure alignment and integration of paid media strategies with broader business initiatives. Coordinate with external partners, agencies, and vendors to enhance media buying and campaign execution. Collaborate with creative and content teams to develop compelling ad copy and creative assets that align with campaign objectives. Compliance and Best Practices: Management of new and existing 3rd party contracts and communication logistics with the Conde Nast legal and procurement teams. Ensure all Paid Media activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Requirements Education and Experience: 10+ years of experience in digital marketing with a focus on paid media, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Previous experience with a subscription business/brand; publishing experience preferred. Skills and Competencies: Proven track record of developing and executing successful Paid Media strategies across multiple channels and brands, resulting in increased company investment. Strong presentation skills in educating and providing paid insights to key stakeholders and senior leadership. Experience with affiliate, e-commerce, and subscription marketing. Deep understanding of optimization algorithms, bid types, targeting, and buying strategies across existing and emerging marketing platforms. Strong understanding of digital marketing metrics, analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, internal reporting dashboards, platform dashboards). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams. Demonstrated ability to manage and forecast large budgets with cost-effective media spending and ability to forecast marginal/incremental impact. Experience with data-driven decision-making and optimizing campaign performance. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Paid Media platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, programmatic advertising). Extensive experience within the mobile app ecosystem, understanding capabilities and differentiating factors between MMPs (e.g., Branch, Kochava). The expected base salary range for this position is from $200,000-$250,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
