RELOCATION NOT PROVIDED

This position is responsible for the preparation of multiple monthly financial reports in an accurate and timely manner including, but not limited to the following:

• Reviews general ledgers for accuracy and detail.

• Preparation of financial statements for cash and accrual basis of accounting in accordance with GAAP.

• Generates and posts general ledger transactions.

• Reconcile balance sheet items with subsidiary ledgers, lender or bank statements, or other appropriate substantiating document(s).

• Prepares and/or reviews monthly bank reconciliations, management fee and other computations.

• Reviews annual budgets for reasonableness and compliance with basis of accounting.

• Assists with preparation and/or review of budget variance reports, owner distributions, managing pooled investment accounts, special projects and management of all facets of bookkeeping.

• Prepares tax and audit workpapers for managed projects.

• Responds to inquiries from CPAs, clients and property management personnel regarding financial statements.


Excellent general ledger and problem-solving skills required. Must be capable of working independently. Office hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be required at times, particularly during tax season (the first quarter of each calendar year) and as needed to meet monthly deadlines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.

• Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

• Determine proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits.

• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.

• Perform or review bank reconciliations.

• Prepare and/or review acquisition, sale or other unusual entries.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and reporting, ideally in property management or related industry.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred but not required


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a high level of competency with Microsoft Windows, Excel and Accounting software in general as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Word. Yardi Voyager or similar property management software experience preferred but not required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical Skills

High level of basic math skills required. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions and apply to practical situations.
