Job Description
Highly responsible work taking verbatim record of judicial proceedings at high rates of speed, logging and storing of exhibits from proceedings, preparing timely transcripts of verbatim records, and maintaining electronic backup storage of records taken is required. Assignment includes working in criminal, civil, probate, juvenile, and domestic proceedings as needed.
Qualifications
Required education and experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and formal training in machine shorthand or voice writing program. Must possess a Kansas Certified Court Reporter (CCR) certificate or equivalent or be qualified to apply for the Kansas certificate.
Desired abilities: Competent computer-aided transcription, good communication, proficient English grammar skills, self-motivation, personal organization, and diligence.
