Meals on Wheels People is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Marketing and Communications to lead our marketing and public relations team in advancing our mission: ensuring that no senior experiences hunger or isolation. This strategic role is instrumental in driving fundraising efforts to generate over $7 million annually. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a proven track record of developing and executing impactful marketing, communications, and public relations strategies within the nonprofit sector. They will be a skilled leader with the ability to inspire and manage a collaborative team, cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders, and serve as a compelling representative of Meals on Wheels People across various platforms and settings. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Plan, develop, implement, and analyze a comprehensive omni-channel marketing, public relations, and communications strategy, incorporating media advertising, social media engagement, print and digital content, and email marketing. Drive revenue growth by executing core fundraising and partnership strategies, achieving aggressive and sustainable year-over-year increases. Lead all communication efforts for fundraising campaigns, special events, and external partnerships to maximize impact and visibility. Leverage data and insights from leadership, market trends, and audience feedback to make strategic decisions, driving continuous improvement and innovation. Manage media campaigns, including media buys, events, press relations, public image initiatives, spokesperson training, and the creation of communication materials such as social media content and public position statements. Serve as a spokesperson for Meals on Wheels People, representing the organization in public settings and media appearances, including television. Oversee the development and production of marketing publications, collateral materials, fundraising appeals, and social media campaigns to ensure quality and consistency. Strengthen and evolve branding and marketing strategies to align with and support MOWP’s strategic goals and objectives. Ensure brand identity, messaging, and marketing strategies are integrated into all organizational efforts, including programming, development, and network support. Evaluate and utilize new and existing digital technologies to enhance marketing efforts and increase brand awareness. Oversee the daily operations of the Marketing & Communications Department, including budgeting, planning, and the supervision and professional development of staff. Support the Leadership Team in crafting and delivering clear and impactful internal and external communications that align with the organization’s vision and strategies. Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and teamwork by coaching and developing staff through a supportive and collaborative leadership approach. Set performance goals, establish priorities, and conduct annual evaluations for staff to ensure accountability and growth.
