Position Purpose:
This position will serve as an advisor to executive leadership and lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that help protect and promote the organization's reputation. This role will focus on proactive planning, swift response, and managing both internal and external communications during high visible, transformative events. This role will work closely with executive leadership to develop strategic recommendations, materials and messaging. Lead the development and implementation of a strategic communication framework to manage transformative events and/or issues management. Collaborate with risk management, legal, compliance and operations teams to ensure communication plans are integrated with overall business continuity and risk management strategies. Serve as the key advisor to executive leadership on communication strategies for such situations, ensuring approach and supporting materials are clear, concise, aligned with organizational goals and impactful. Develop and manage the organization's overarching response strategy, including scenario planning, media relations and stakeholder communications. Create and maintain a robust, scenario plan that can be swiftly activated for a variety of potential business developments, including regulatory changes, legal matters, data breaches, or other market developments. Provide strategic communication guidance to the CEO and executive team, crafting messaging for transformative situations and ensuring they are prepared to address key stakeholders. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required. Master's Degree preferred: 10+ years experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, with a focus on transformative communications for large, complex organizations required. Experience in healthcare or managed care industry strongly preferred. Experience successfully managing communication strategies for notable business developments, regulatory matters, or reputational issues Pay Range: $129,400.00 - $239,300.00 per year Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
