Job Position- Social Media Manager
(Position Description - full-time, salary, exempt, administrative, and at-will)

Scope of Position
The Social Media Manager (SMM) is responsible for leading Crossings social media strategy. This role oversees and engages in all aspects of social media across all platforms, ensuring brand consistency, managing content creation, and fostering engagement with the Crossings congregation. This role collaborates with the Communications Department to develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract more people and promote Crossings, ultimately increasing web traffic and people engagement metrics in alignment with the Crossings digital marketing strategies. The SMM is charged with outlining social media campaign calendars and conceptualizing tactics to increase primary audiences. The SMM will actively engage followers in dialogue (by creating engaging text, images, and/or video) in an effort to transfer Crossings DNA, goals, and objectives, while supporting Communications Department efforts to connect with current members and invite visitors.
This position is a full-time position (40 hours weekly). The work week at Crossings is Monday - Sunday. Typical work hours will be Monday thru Friday (with flexibility). Actual days and hours of work are subject to event schedules as well as department and church needs which may require days and hours beyond or different from your typical work week.
Organization
The Social Media Manager (SMM) is a member of the Communications Department and reports to Director of Communications. This position interfaces regularly with departments/ministries and locations throughout Crossings Community Church, as well as Crossings Community Clinic, Crossings Community Center, Crossings partners, and volunteers to accomplish the goals and mission of Crossings' and the Communications Ministry. As the social media team grows, the SMM will supervise employees, contractors, and volunteers.

Responsibilities
- Develop and Lead Social Media Strategy: Create, execute, and refine the social media strategy to support church goals and engage with diverse audiences across locations.
- Manage Church Social Accounts: Oversee content creation, scheduling, and posting for the main Crossings accounts (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), ensuring consistent messaging and branding. Maintain Google Business pages, including reviews, maps, location hours, photos, etc.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all content aligns with the Crossings brand guidelines and vision, maintaining a cohesive voice across all social media channels.
- Develop & Coordinate Campus Liaison team: Serve as the primary point of contact for location social media reps, coordinating the submission and scheduling of localized content.
- Content Creation & Curation: Lead the development of compelling multimedia content (text, video, graphics) that inspires, informs, and engages the congregation by attending Crossings Sunday morning services, Wednesday Nights, and any other events deemed necessary and be able to represent Crossings socially in 'real time' on various platforms.
- Campaign Management: Plan and execute social media campaigns, including major church events, outreach programs, and community engagement initiatives. Create and maintain digital ad campaigns (Google, Facebook, etc.). Maintain campaign calendar/posting schedule, and use Wrike system to facilitate project management within Communications Department.
- Monitor Analytics: Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics. Use insights to adjust strategy and improve engagement across all platforms.
- Community Engagement: Foster a positive and interactive online community, responding to comments, questions, and messages in a timely and appropriate manner. Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content. Report notable threats to appropriate management.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Communications, location pastors, and ministry teams to align social media efforts with overall church goals. Attend weekly Communications Department meeting.
- Stay Current on Social Media Trends: Keep up with platform updates, trends, and best practices to ensure the church's social media presence remains relevant and effective.
- General Duties:
- Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings Community Church.
- Support the leadership of Crossings, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.
- Represent Crossings in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved.
- Complete any other tasks as may be needed to fulfill this position or as may be assigned to fulfill social media needs and the mission of the Communications Department.

- Possess a current unrestricted driver's license.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer)
- Proven ability to create engaging content and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- Experience with social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Sprout Social)
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage volunteers
- A passion for community building and the mission of Crossings Community Church
- Multitasker who is deadline-oriented, has the ability to prioritize, and is extremely organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and tight deadlines with the flexibility to accommodate an ever-changing online presence
- Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.

Education and Experience
- shall possess an undergraduate degree in Communications or Marketing, at a minimum
- experience of managing social media accounts, 3 years of experience at a minimum
- experience in campus ministry, leadership development and staff management
- attends Crossings on a consistent basis to understand culture, mission and vision
