Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.'s ("KCB") Power and Transportation Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Civil Designer / Drafter to join our Vancouver office. This role will work on heavy civil infrastructure projects, including Hydroelectric, Transportation, and Marine facilities. Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.'s ("KCB") Power and Transportation Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Civil Designer / Drafter to join our Vancouver office. This role will work on heavy civil infrastructure projects, including Hydroelectric, Transportation, and Marine facilities. The successful candidate will work as part of a project team alongside accomplished managers, engineers, designers, and drafters.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Support a team of multidisciplinary project managers by providing leadership and guidance to their respective engineering, design, and drafting resources and project teams.
- Coordinate civil design, 3D models, and drawing production across a range of projects from hydroelectric facilities to linear infrastructure.
- Create civil layouts, plans, and detailed design drawing packages for the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility stage through construction and close-out.
- Interpret, support, and adhere to applicable company and client drafting standards.
- Work on all aspects of civil design for mining infrastructure and earthworks projects using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other Autodesk AEC applications.
- Review and approve civil design models, drawings, and specifications.
- Provide direction, guidance, and motivation to a team of civil drafters and manage drawing deliverable schedules, drawing quality, and drafting systems and standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and team members.
We value your:
- Diploma of Engineering Technology (Civil), Diploma of Civil Engineering (Drafting/Design), or similar from a recognized technical institution.
- 10+ years' experience in civil engineering design and drafting.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organization skills.
- High level of proficiency in the use of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other Autodesk AEC applications.
- Knowledge of earthworks and civil engineering in relation to hydroelectric facilities is an asset.
- Experience with BC Hydro CAD standards is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of drafters.
- Experience in team leadership roles with an interest in developing less experienced staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
