Senior Structural Designer / Drafter
Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.'s ("KCB") Power and Transportation Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Structural Designer / Drafter to join our Vancouver office. This role will work on heavy civil infrastructure projects, including Hydroelectric, Transportation, and Marine facilities. The successful candidate will work as part of a project team alongside accomplished managers, engineers, designers, and drafters.

Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.'s ("KCB") Power and Transportation Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Structural Designer / Drafter to join our Vancouver office. This role will work on heavy civil infrastructure projects, including Hydroelectric, Transportation, and Marine facilities. The successful candidate will work as part of a project team alongside accomplished managers, engineers, designers, and drafters.
What you would engage in:
- Be involved in all aspects of multidisciplinary design and drafting
- Create structural layouts and conceptual plans
- Interpret and produce accurate technical drawings
- Ensure compliance with engineering specifications
- Prepare detailed design drawings (structural concrete, structural steel, and reinforcing steel detailing)
- Review and check the work of others
- Ensure compliance with KCB's Quality Management System (QMS) and our clients' quality standards
What we require:
- Diploma of Structural Engineering, or Certificate of Structural Drafting from a recognized technical institution
- 8+ years' experience in Structural engineering design and drafting
- Highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD or Revit
- Knowledge of Structural design standards
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineers and project teams to ensure alignment on multidisciplinary design specifications and changes.
- Commitment to communication and team collaboration
- Demonstrated project management and organizational ability
- Familiarity with project workflows and deliverables
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Motivation to assist the development of junior staff skills
- Experience with hydroelectric facilities and/or BC Hydro CAD standards an asset
- Working understanding of survey, geomatics, or familiarity with GIS an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
