POSITION SUMMARY + RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversight of building and structure design (shape, form, layout, aesthetics, etc.).
Direct the design team on vision and intent and assist the team with material selection, building aesthetics, functionality, and operational characteristics.
Working as a member of the design team in a collaborative and hands-on environment to develop drawings and specifications for bidding and construction.
Preparation of documentation in Revit (and in rare instance AutoCAD) throughout all phases of assigned projects (Programming, Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents).
Project Research.
Assist and oversee all design aspects of the project during the construction administration phase. Construction Administration support services include the review and response to RFIs and submittals, issuing addendum, participating in OAC meetings and on-site job observation, and creating field reports.
Coordination of all disciplines (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, etc.).
Ensure that information is communicated clearly, accurately, and in a visually appealing manner and in alignment with the firm’s overall brand.
EXPERIENCE + SKILLSETS
8+ years working experience in an architectural firm.
8+ years of strong Revit experience in an architectural office working on commercial projects.
Working knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), Microsoft Project, and other industry software (Preferred).
Strong verbal and written communication, collaborative, flexible, outgoing, and performs well in a team-oriented environment.
Well-versed in programming, conceptual design, and schematic design with strong technical skills in creating construction documents.
Experience with all phases of commercial architecture design projects from project setup through design and through construction administration.
Experience in working on multiple projects at any given time, coordinating multiple disciplines and engineering teams.
Strong understanding of building codes, ADA, and other AHJ requirements.
Creative, self-driven, collaborative, motivated, and natural problem solver.
Interpersonal skills with an ability to cultivate and maintain productive working relationships.
Experience in the commercial architecture industry surrounding municipal and state government projects (Administrative Office Buildings, Public Safety Projects, Fire Stations, Police Stations, Courthouses, Search and Rescue, Public Works, Vehicle Maintenance and Storage, etc.).
Experience in federal government projects (DoD, DoE, USACE, ARNG, ANG, etc.).
Experience in industrial storage and warehouse facilities.
Experience in private development projects.
Professional Registration (RA or AIA) is not required for this position. However, candidates who are actively working through NCARB’s Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and seeking future license are encouraged to apply.
