Position Overview:
As a User Experience Designer at Raymour & Flanigan, you'll be at the forefront of designing digital shopping experiences that captivate and delight our users. You'll collaborate daily with a passionate team of product managers, developers, and other key players to turn ambitious ideas into visually stunning and highly functional designs. Your expertise in Figma and design systems will empower you to shape every element of the user journey, creating solutions that don't just meet requirements but exceed user expectations. Responsibilities:
Design and Prototype Experiences: Utilize Figma and design systems to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that demonstrate user flows, interaction patterns, and the overall structure of web pages and features. User-Centric Design: Conduct user research and usability testing to understand customer behavior, needs, and pain points. Analyze research findings to inform design decisions and enhance the user experience. Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development process. Think about the entire customer experience when proposing solutions, considering end-to-end user journeys. Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work with Product Managers, Developers, and Analytics teams to ensure designs are implemented effectively and meet business and user goals. Regularly communicate and present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders. Actively participate in design critiques and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes. Proactive, Data-Driven Optimization: Use analytics, heatmaps, A/B testing, and other data sources to continuously improve the site's UX and performance. Track, analyze, and iterate on designs based on insights from user data. Anticipate and prevent recurring problems, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure Consistent Brand Experience: Maintain and enhance brand guidelines, ensuring all elements of the website are aligned with the company's visual identity and voice. Responsive Design: Design responsive and adaptive layouts that provide optimal experiences across mobile, desktop, and tablet devices. Innovation and Best Practices: Stay updated on UX design best practices, industry standards, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to bring fresh ideas and approaches to the team. Demonstrate Personal Leadership: Take personal accountability for your work, exhibit a strong will to grow by optimizing quality and efficiency. Demonstrate commitment to internal and external customers/clients by delivering unsurpassed service and premium value. Proactively champion the importance of UX best practices to enhance the customer experience and drive business objectives. Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned. Requirements:
Experience: 3-5 years in UX design, with a portfolio demonstrating impactful work. Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficient in Figma (or similar tools like Sketch or Adobe XD); experience with design systems and user testing tools (e.g., Userlytics, Quantum Metric, Qualtrics). Collaboration: Skilled at working with cross-functional teams and communicating design concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities; able to balance creativity with meeting user and business needs. Problem-Solving & Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; committed to creating inclusive, seamless experiences that address edge cases and improve usability. Time Management: Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively. Preferred Qualifications:
Agile Experience: Familiarity with agile development environments. Front-End Knowledge: Understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Accessibility: Knowledge of ADA accessibility standards and guidelines. Mentorship: Experience mentoring or guiding other designers.
