Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) Department of Music is looking to hire trained accompanists. The accompanist's responsibilities may include assisting with the Voice masterclass, accompanying the voice through applied lessons, auditions, and juries, and accompanying a choir. The Voice masterclass meets from 12:30 to 1:20 on Thursdays.

Accompanists are expected to be thoughtful and proactive members of the Music community and have a desire to work with a diverse student population in a collaborative, inclusive and learning-centered collective.
Primary Responsibilities
•Provide collaborative piano support during private studio lessons, studio classes, choirs and
various recital performances. Willingness to participate in end-of-semester juries as needed.
•Ability to participate in performance auditions for prospective music majors and assist with
recruitment efforts as needed.

•Master's degree in collaborative piano or piano performance.
•Experience accompanying applied lessons from beginner to advanced levels.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent experience
- One (1) year of experience playing for music courses at the collegiate, professional, or pre-professional level; or equivalent in related training, education, and/or experience.
- Demonstrated strong oral presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
